Yoko has joined NHK as a TV program director in 1992. She has worked on various genre and formats including documentary, news programs, and magazine shows. Her main focus of interest has been in international affairs, human interests and produced numerous programs including the NHK Special series. Between 2011 and 2014, she worked for NHK Enterprises, the business arm of NHK as a buyer in charge of documentary acquisition. From 2014 to 2018, she worked at NHK headquarters as the producer and the commissioning editor of documentary slots including “World Documentary” She moved back to NHK Enterprises recently, this time to the production headquarters as an executive producer in charge of developing co-production projects.
