Great accomplishments require ambition and tireless effort. Going into its 19th year, GZDOC has developed from a documentary film seminar to a documentary film conference to a documentary film festival today after constant exploration in childhood, breakthrough growth in youth. It is increasingly playing a leading role in the development of China's documentary sector. GZDOC is seeing its effect by telling China story well and promoting the function of international communication. We should endeavor to: documenting today for tomorrow.

This edition, 3,670 film submissions from 125 countries and regions were received , with foreign documentaries accounting for 82.3%. The 5 key words of international documentary theme are: society & current affair, family & personal image, art experiment, female, and environmental protection.

After competing with thousands of titles and went through 3-round selections, the juries  have voted and the winners of 12  Golden Kapok Awards at GZDOC have been chosen.
