Golden Kapok Screening

Since 2014, the "Golden Kapok Screening" that GZDOC established has been one of the most signature screening events in China. With 25 cinemas and art spaces covering a large downtown area of Guangzhou, the brand creates national influence as well. During the past 6 years, hundreds of excellent documentaries from 50 countries and regions have screened in 20 metropolises in China, including Beijing, Guangzhou, and Shanghai. As of January 2021, there are a total of 2,200 screenings, attracting more than 520,000 audiences and covering nearly 10 million fans.

Established in 2018, Golden Kapok Screening’s subunit "Premiere in Guangzhou" provides the premiere films with opportunities for release as well as supporting official cinema screenings, post-screening cast Q&A, press conferences and other official activities. It brings a Chinese distribution and promotion platform to the global outstanding documentaries.

2021, as China's first documentary-themed screening brand, the Ultra-high-definition Digital Documentary Exhibition Hall officially opened in Guangzhou. With the largest indoor 8k LED screen in China, it will be used as a fixed screening venue for the GZDOC Screening.
