Head of discovery, travel and wildlife programmes at NDR in Hamburg, Germany. Responsible for 200 prime time slots per year, 80+ of which are first broadcasts. Studied art history and literature in Munich, Ralf Quibeldey started as a freelance journalist for the ARD network's cultural magazines and has directed numerous documentaries for German broadcasters.
Joined the NDR in the late 90s as commissioning editor, he was responsible for cultural programs and later changed sides for a couple of years as head of entertainment.
Ralf Quibeldey was Executive Producer of the Eurovision Song Contest, a live music show broadcasted in almost 50 countries. For almost 10 years now, he dedicated to the world of discovery and wildlife films. He commissions, coproduces, acquires and directs films - and increasingly also online projects - about the outdoors.
NDR is part of the ARD network, one of the world‘s largest public broadcast organizations and Germany‘s market leader in hard news, news magazines and documentaries. This network commits a large percentage of its prime time programming to documentaries from abroad.
