Started from 2003, GZDOC aims at building a professional platform to facilitate exchanges between China and the global documentary industries, to connect domestic and international producers, distributors, broadcasters and to promote Chinese documentaries. GZDOC is not only a state-level documentary film festival that has a longest history in China, but also the biggest documentary film festival in Asia.

This year, GZDOC 2018 will be held from 10^th December to 13^th December at the Guangzhou Library.

Golden Kapok Award

Producers, directors, broadcasters etc. from around the world are encouraged to submit documentaries of various genres for the Golden Kapok Award competition. The jury consisted of renowned documentary experts, directors and producers from China and abroad will pick 12 prize winners after three rounds of selection. Below is the list of awards:

The festival is calling for entries, and the deadline for submission is 31^st August, 2018. In the evening of the 13^th December 2018, the Golden Kapok Award Competition Ceremony will be held with the GZDOC closing gala at the Guangdong Radio and Television Centre.
