Warm Current won the Best Documentary Magnolia Award   

The Shanghai Television Festival has dropped its curtain after releasing the 26th Magnolia Award Winners last week. It’s the first grand event in China after the Pandemics broke out in January. Documentary "Warm Current" won the Best Documentary award, marking the first Chinese title to receive the award in this category.The Best Documentary Series award went to Germany's Terra X - Anthropocene - The Rise of Humans.

Beijing Movie Theaters Get $2.87 Million Subsidy

The Beijing Film Bureau has issued a $2.87 million (approximately 20 million yuan) special epidemic subsidy to support a total number of 232 local movie theaters. The financial aids will be subsidized based on the box office output of movie theaters in 2019, and appropriately favor small and medium-sized movie theaters which are more vulnerable in the post-COVID-19 pandemic recovery.
