In 2004, GZDOC was the first festival in China to introduce the international model of pitching. And in 2016, the pitching unit was officially upgraded to 'China Stories' International Pitching Session. In 2018, GZDOC's ‘Documentary Film Program International Pitching Financing Model’became a cultural trade project approved to be replicated nationwide.

The 19th GZDOC ‘China Stories’ Pitching Session received 218 proposals from 35 countries and areas.  The creators showed the charm of images through different perspectives, telling stories that are deeply rooted in people's hearts. Through preliminary evaluation and re-evaluation, 25 proposals were finally given the opportunity to be presented at the ‘China Stories’ Pitching Session. 45 decision makers from home and abroad selected the Top Ten Proposals and the most promising international proposal from Bilibili × GZDOC. The final results are as follows.

The ‘China Stories’International Pitching Session joined hands with Bilibili for the first time this year.

Bilibili has always been committed to discovering and supporting promising new generation documentary filmmakers and finding and telling Chinese stories with an international perspective, a concept that coincides with the ‘China Stories’ International Pitching Session, ‘China Stories, International Communication’. This concept of Bilibili coincides with the purpose of the China Story International Proposal Conference: ‘China Stories, International Communication’.

The proposal that receives the most votes in this year's proposal conference will be named the most promising international proposal from Bilibili × GZDOC and will receive a prize of RMB 50,000 sponsored by Bilibili.
