Christian Beetz and his production company ranges among the most important independent German documentary producers. The productions regularly screen in the competitions of major international film festivals and have received numerous respected awards, including three Grimme Awards, the IDFA Special Jury Award, two Golden Panda Awards at Sichuan TV Festival and even an Oscar Academy award nomination in 2013.  Many of his films are developed as international co-productions addressing a broad audience, with a focus on documentary productions the films primarily deal with topics relating to history, culture, science, and society. His productions include cinema documentary features, TV documentaries, television series, and cross-media formats. Apart from being a media consultant, a book publisher and jury member at various film festivals, Christian Beetz is Senior Consultant to the Western Branch of the Documentary Television Academic Committee of the China Television Artists Association.
