Richard is Lion’s co-founder and Chief Creative Officer. Under his leadership the company has built a worldwide reputation for quality, inventive and ambitious television. He oversees the creation of documentary, history, arts, scripted, comedy and children’s programming. He has helped devise shows including the children’s classic Horrible Histories (CBBC), Victorian Farm (BBC2), October:10 Days that Shook the World (History), Mary Beard’s Meet The Romans (BBC2), and the drama First Light (BBC2). With expertise in high-end production for the world’s leading broadcasters and SVODs, Richard has pioneered international production relationships, particularly in China where Lion has built over a decade of award-winning success. Richard continues to enjoy EP-ing, working with key television talent and nurturing the next generation in production.  His work has won numerous UK and international award including multiple Emmy’s, the AAAS Gold Award, BAFTAs, British Comedy Awards, the Prix Jeunesse and the Golden Rose. Richard co-chairs the Children’s TV Council and is on the board of the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers. Lion TV works with some of the world’s leading television talent to produce compelling stories for many major broadcasters and streamers including Netflix, National Geographic, BBC, Channel 4, Channel 5, ITV, Sky, Arte ZDF, Discovery and Smithsonian. In China, LionTV has worked successfully with CCTV, SMG, Bilibili, JSBC and CICC. We have taken part in numerous workshops with Chinese producers and broadcasters.
