Pailin Wedel is a Thai-American filmmaker who grew up in Asia. She founded 2050 Productions in 2017.
She works on documentaries that focus themes of faith, trauma and the clash between the East and the West.
(Hope Frozen) is her first feature-length documentary film. The film has been selected for more than a dozen festivals worldwide. It also won the Best International Feature Documentary award at Hot Docs, the largest documentary film festival in North America. The win meant that the film is Oscar-qualified, the first step before being shortlisted.
