Film Introduction
Sodar was born with a romantic personality, spiritually-led to dedicate to Tibetan Buddhism. He entered the biggest Buddhist Academy in the world at 6, and vowed there to be a monk for life. As China changes rapidly, his brief encounters with the profit-driven mainstream society have planted seeds of disturbance in his life. He also struggles with a temptation for romance as his childhood sweetheart persists to express love to him. Later,Sodar quits his religious life and gets together with a girl who has waited for him for 17 years. But in Tibetan Society, A Lama get back to secular life consider a disgrace for his family because this behavior is a serious damage to Tibetan culture. Sodar has to face the pressure from the community and start to live with money.

Shiwei Kang, a literature doctor and a Sichuan-based filmmaker . He is the art director of US-China Educational and Cultural Foundation. Kang 's feature documentary “A lifetime poem”was awarded for Best Documentary Film by International Euro Film Festival(Spain).His feature documentary “Crossing Kasaya” was won the “Story that matters award ” by Alula film festival.His documentary work “Love Samasara” was awarded by the Beijing Ethnographic Film Festival for the silver prize and nominated by China Academy Award of Documentary Films for the name”Best feature documentaries”.His documentary films were acquired by CBC Canada,NHK Japan and Phoenix TV Hong Kong.
Ruby Chen is the Co-Founder and CEO of the non-profit CNEX Foundation Limited, the CEO of CNEX Studio. She is also the Senior Advisor of Executive Education of CEIBS (China Europe International Business School). She was invited to be Distinguished Professor, School of Film and Animation, China Academy of Art in 2021 .She had been working in McKinsey & Company since 1992, and left as the Director of Leadership Institute in China prior to joining Peking University in its Business School (GSM) as the Executive Director for Executive Education in 2009. With her passion to explore talent, support and promote Chinese documentary films internationally, she is the executive producer for almost 90 documentaries, including the award-winning “KJ: music and life”, “Chinese Mayor”, “A Young Patriot” ,“Plastic China” and “Tough Out” She is a member of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) and the selection committee of documentary for the Oscars.
