Film Introduction
Education in our fast-changing world is essential, especially when climate change is threatening the future of the humanity. School of Hope follows the nomadic Oulad Boukais Tribe, whose children walk miles to a tiny schoolhouse, built by their parents, in the hope that education can prepare the next generation for new ways of life when nomadic lifestyle is becoming impossible.
Film Creator
Mohamed El Aboudi, was born in 1961 in Morocco, and graduated from Bond University, Australia with the degree of Master of Film and Television. He currently resides in Finland, and was awarded in 2006 as the best and most experienced documentary director by the Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE in connection with the 10th anniversary of its multicultural services. His long documentary, DANCE OF OUTLAWS had its world premiere at Locarno International Film Festival, where it received the prize Premio Zonta Club Locarno. The film has also received several other prizes, including Human Rights Award at DokuFest in Kosovo and Grand Prix of Mediterranean Issues at Primed in Marseille. It also received the highest State Quality Award for Documentary and Fiction in Finland in 2013. Other works of Mr El Aboudi include long documentaries Fight of Fate (2009) and Netizen Mo (2015), and more than 30 short TV documentaries, some of which have been nominees at Prix Europa, and shown at different festivals.
